Vegas, Baby

This past weekend, the girls made a trip down to Las Vegas to see The Phantom of the Opera. My mom has been dying to get to the Thunder Down Under show but unfortunately we couldn't get our hands on any tickets. Regardless, the Phantom turned out to be a great show besides the whole chandelier-not-falling thing.
We also did some shopping. Sara, Marisa and I went for clothes and shoes while my mom and Sara's mother-in-law found some great deals on china (boring!) haha...

Las Vegas never fails to entertain/amaze/disgust me. I don't mean to sound like a snob but the whole - I know! Let's create an indoor Venice, paint the ceiling so people feel like they're outside, and make people as confused as hell so they can never leave - seems like a lame idea to me... Don't get me wrong, the outcome is quite a spectacle; and it must work because people walk around like they really are in Venice or whatever other themed monstrocity they happen to be in... They put on their best and most revealing outfits and come out in hords, infiltrating every inch of the strip with their tan lines and high heels. I love it! I love it because people-watching is one of my favorite hobbies and the people-watching doesn't get much better than this!

Marisa thinks her eyes look puffy in this picture but I put it on here anyways because she never reads my blog...

Have You Seen Me?

I am a Nine West black heel, size 7 1/2, right foot

Date missing: sometime in December

My owner is probably the only person in the world capable of losing ONE shoe...

Her hairdresser gave her the assignment of purchasing some sassy black heels...now she has to go in tomorrow, head hung in shame, and report that she lost one of them.

Highlights of 2007

January
Rang in the new year with a date on New Year’s Day…should have been a good sign for ‘07, right? Not when you have to pick your date up and end up paying because they forgot their wallet…
February

The sweet mansion I was living in reached a high of 60 degrees on a good day. Good thing there was a hot tub on the roof to warm up in…
March

Showed more school spirit than I did in high school and college combined when I attended the Cheer Nationals in Anaheim as a chaperone (my roommate is a cheer coach at Highland). I felt like I was an extra on the movie ‘Bring It On.’
April

Must have been an exciting month…
May

My friends and I made the third annual trip to Moab over Memorial Day weekend. Fortunately there were no near-death experiences this time…
June

I got a new job as an event planner which took me to New York City and Hartford, Connecticut…two places I had never been. I have to say that I do heart NY, just like the t-shirt says.
July

First I moved to an apartment with central air (the mansion I mentioned in February can also reach a high of 90 degrees in the summer – go figure). The job took me to the exciting destination of Des Moines, Iowa…home of ‘Field of Dreams’, corn, beef, and corn-fed beef.
August

This month, the job took me to Indianapolis, Indiana, where I attended my first and last Nascar Race. Apparently clothing and haircuts are optional at these events…but beer bongs are more than welcome…
September

This month was Houston…nothing too exciting happened. I was bit by a spider while I was there. By the looks of it I thought the spider had laid eggs in my eyelid and I should expect its offspring to hatch at any moment…luckily that didn’t happen.
October

I decided to earn some extra cash by working as a cashier at the Haunted Village. I never actually went through it because I was too scared so when people asked me how it was, I lied to them and told them it was great.
November

This was a month to be thankful so I wrote down everything I was thankful for, framed it, and hung it in my bedroom…no I didn’t.. But I did buy a new car! The cavalier was on her last leg and I don’t do well with car repairs.
December

This month is still full of possibilities. I’ve hung some mistletoe in hopes of something more exciting to report…

My New Favorite Thing...

This shoe organizer has changed my life...I no longer have to spend hours (okay maybe minutes) digging through a heap of heels, flats and boots at the bottom of my closet. The only downside is I can't buy anymore shoes because there's nowhere to put them...I'm limited to 25 pairs! Okay let's be honest - that's not going to stop me :) There's always room for shoes!

Welcome Fall...and the Domestic Goddess

Fall is in the air...
For whatever reason, my domesticity levels inevitably rise as soon as Labor Day has passed.
New soup, bread and dessert recipes catch my interest. I start collecting ribbons, fabrics and other materials that I may never use. My knitting bag resurfaces. The crock pot is dusted off. Why does this happen? It's a phenomenon that may never be explained...

Anyone have any fun project ideas?

Kauai

This is where we are headed in February. The plane tickets have been purchased! Time to start working on the beach bod so I can pick up on some surf babes...
